CHIP'S 50TH

This project is one of my favorites! In 2024, with Chip Gaines' 50th birthday coming up, I was approached by my old manager at Magnolia to design a bandana for Chip's surprise party that Joanna was planning, as well as a few additional illustrations for other party decor.

The design of the bandana was inspired by several things from Chip's childhood and life. The dog at the center was Chip's dog he had when he was a little boy, Shiner. Behind the dog in the background are a few hot air balloons, representing the famous hot air balloons in Albuquerque, NM where Chip grew up. In each of the four corners is a magnolia blossom, of course representing the business he's built with Joanna. And lastly, beneath the 1974 (the year he was born) is an illustration of Chip's favorite pair of Ariat work boots that he's been wearing for years.
